Third Grade 11/30/2017

Dear Families,
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  It is hard to believe that tomorrow will already be December.  The time between Thanksgiving and Winter Break can be hectic, but is a very important stretch academically.  Here is what we have been doing:

Reading:  We started, The War With Grandpa.  We are practicing using the reading strategy of asking deeper questions about the text and the author's writing strategies.

Writing:  We worked on different leads for our narratives and will begin revising!  By the end of next week we should be ready to publish our final drafts!  This is a very exciting time for our young writers.

Social Studies: We are learning about celebrations around the world!  We then are comparing those celebrations to our own.  We are also mapping locations and using this content to teach close reading strategies.

Upcoming Dates:

12/8   Early Release Day
