4/12/24 Third Grade

 4/12/24

Dear Families,

Happy Spring!  The snow is gone and the mud has arrived :)  Here is what we have been up to:

Literacy:

We have finished state testing!  Students did a wonderful job staying focused and trying their best.  These tests are LONG and we are so proud of their efforts!  We have finished our read aloud, Winn Dixie and have moved into our poetry unit.  Students are reading and writing poetry.  We have talked about tone, pausing, and literal versus figurative meaning.  This unit culminates with our annual Poetry Breakfast on May 10th at 8:00 am!  More information about this event will come soon.

Snack:

We have noticed that more and more students are coming to school without snacks.  We do offer a fresh fruit and vegetable but often this is not enough for our third graders.  If possible, please make sure your child is bringing a snack.

Upcoming Dates:

4/22-4/26     April Vacation
