Dear Families,
Time has been flying by in third grade! It is hard to believe that on Monday it will be February. We are so proud of all of the hard work your students have been doing. Here's an update:
Reading: We have been focusing on non-fiction and studying strategies authors use to write this genre. Students have been focusing on main ideas and details that support their main ideas. We have been using this strategy as a comprehension check as we read.
Writing: We are learning how to write complete paragraphs with an introduction, detail sentences, transitions, and conclusions. We will be moving into our opinion writing unit next week.
