Dear Families,
We hope you are enjoying the start of winter! Students have been enjoying playing and learning in the snow. Our school skating rink will be coming soon which should add to the winter excitement! Here’s an update:
Reading: Students are working on their independent reading books and completing online reading responses. We are working on our inference skills by using clues from the text, and background knowledge, to solve the missing words in passages. We have been doing a lot of read alouds from the various countries we’ve been studying!
Writing: Students have completed their personal narratives! We worked on adding precise verbs and color words to our writing. Be on the lookout for these final drafts coming home!
Social Studies: We are learning about celebrations taking place around the world! Students have learned about St. Lucia Day, Sinterklaas Day, Celebrations in Australia, Las Posadas Day and more to come!
