3/14/19 Third Grade

Dear Families,
We have had great week!  We want to wish the best of luck to the varsity boys basketball team as they vie for a spot in the championship game tonight!   Here's what we have been up to:

Reading:  We are focusing on how characters change over time.  We have started reading, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. 

Writing:  We are starting our poetry unit!  This will be a month long celebration of reading and writing poetry.  We will end our unit with our annual, Mother's Day Poetry Breakfast!  Mark your calendars, this year's poetry breakfast will be on May 9th from 8-8:45 am!

3/15             No School
3/26-3/29     Math SBAC Testing
4/2-4/5         ELA SBAC Testing

High/Low

High- we got to tap maple trees in elective
Low- our shoes got soaked!
High- we started Edward Tulane
High- we started new cursive letters
High- we got to start cursive
Low- we had indoor recess Monday
High- it’s a three day weekend
Low- we don’t have school tomorrow
High- it’s almost fall and my birthday is in the fall
Low- it’s cold outside
High- my birthday is coming up
High- my parents let me do Girls on the Run, no school tomorrow
High- no school tomorrow
Low- sign language is done
High- we are doing more cursive
High- Calvin is here
Low- it’s cold outside
High- student led conferences are off to a great start, Edward Tulane
Low- I am not getting a lot of home folders
