Welcome!

 

Welcome to a new year of third grade!  We try to update our blog every Friday after our Third Grade Meeting.  Students brainstorm things that went well this week, their 'highs' and things that were difficult, their 'lows'.  We also update you on what we have been doing and always end with a picture! 

Dear Families,

What an amazing start to our school year!  Students have adjusted well to new expectations and routines.  We had a WONDERFUL day at the Tunbridge Fair yesterday!  We'd like to thank all of our chaperones for making this trip possible.  Here is what we have been up to:

Humanities:

We have been launching both Reader's and Writer's Workshops!  In reading, students are learning how to select 'just right' books and getting to know our classroom library. In writing, students are gathering ideas by listening to other stories.

Upcoming Dates:

9/21        1 pm dismissal

9/29        Open House 5-6:30pm

10/7        All School Hike

High- the fair!

Low- not being able to get an animal balloon

High- the fair

Low- some of my students forgot home folders

High- getting a necklace at the fair

Low- one of the things I got at the fair broke

High- going to look at Antique Hill, getting a pop it notebook

High- going to the fair and having a good group!

Low- we had to leave the fair

High- seeing all the animals

Low- My legs were aching

High- seeing three peacocks at the fair

Low- I spent all of my money

High- going to the fair

Low- school

High- the horse pulling

High- the fair

Low- we had to go

High- going to the fair on the bus and falling asleep

Iow- losing my snake necklace

High- staying after at the fair

Low- friends had to leave

High- buying a necklace, hat, and seeing my mom at the fair

Low- leaving the fair

High- the fair

HIgh- going on the horses

Low- we couldn’t go on the rides

High- going to the fair

Low- not being able to ride on the rides or do the games

High- going to the fair

Low- having to leave

High- petting the cows and feeling the oxen horns

Low- I lost four dollars and leaving

High- I got to pet the oxen and I got a head band
