Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that we have been in school for almost two weeks! We are simply AMAZED by how well students are adapting to new rules and expectations. As parents, we understand how difficult the decision to allow your child to attend in-person instruction was and we appreciate your support. Here is our classroom update:
Humanities: Our humanities block has been spent getting to know students, back to school read alouds, and learning classroom routines. This week we also began learning technology skills we will need if we need to begin virtual learning. These are skills we will also use in the classroom. Students have learned how to log on to their google accounts, how to send email, how to work their email account, and how to use the reading program Lexia.
Specials: Specials will be done on a rotation this year. Each class will have the same special, everyday, for three weeks.
This rotation is:
Franklin: PE
Thompson: Library
Maloney: Music
Lunch: ALL students are able to receive FREE lunch and breakfast daily! This program has been extended from the summer to December. We hope you will take advantage of this awesome opportunity! Even if kids eat breakfast at home, they can order breakfast to have as a snack!
Headphones: We provided students today with a set of earbuds. A lot of students found them uncomfortable. If they have headphones at home that they want to bring in we encourage them to do so!
