Dear Families,

What a week!  We are so grateful to the Williamstown community for the amazing parade we were able to participate in on Halloween.  It was awesome to see so many families cheering the kids on!  As you can see from our highs and lows, it was a  highlight of our week.  Here is what we have been up to:

Literacy:

We finished The War with Grandpa and have started, The Wild Robot.  Students have been working hard on their introductions and the middle section of their personal narratives.

Literacy:  We have been examining important information that authors give us by reading Stone Fox.  Students have been busy building up their writing stamina by writing entries in their writer's notebooks.  We are using ideas they gathered in their Idea Banks!

Dear Families,

This was our first FULL (normal) week and it was wonderful!  Here is what we have been doing:

Literacy:

This week we launched our writer's workshop!  Students are learning how to use their writer's notebooks as a tool to capture ideas and to become better writers.  We are encouraging kids to bring in pictures that represent them to put on their covers.  These pics can be emailed to us at any time.  In reading, we are continuing to learn about Just Right books and our library.

Third Grade: WELCOME BACK! 9/6/24

Dear Families,

We are off to an amazing start in third grade!  Each week we publish a blog with updates, upcoming events, our students highs and lows from the week, and a picture.  We encourage you to subscribe so that you don't miss any updates.  Here is what we have been up to:

Literacy:

Third graders have had the opportunity to visit all of their classes and are adjusting well to their new schedule.  We have been spending time getting to know each other and building our classroom community.  Next week, students will begin their beginning of the year assessments.
